A simple but impressive christening cake for an adorable little girl. It went down very well with family and guests alike. This cake was a fruit cake, but the option for madeira was also available. Fruit cakes can be stored for much longer, so are better options. This must have been one of the "funniest" christening cakes I have been commissioned to bake in a long time. It was not an original idea, I was given a picture by a mom of a cake she wanted baked for her little girl's christening. I liked the idea of the soft feather boa separating the tiers and the general construction of the cake itself. The detailed bootees finished it off nicely, but the little girl was just too precious for words and made all the effort that went into the cake so very worthwhile!
